GATE Syllabus 2022 will be published by IIT Kharagpur, accompanying the official notification tentatively in July 2021. No new developments are expected in GATE Syllabus 2022; however, aspirants are advised to expect the official announcement. General Aptitude (GA) is a compulsory part of all 27 GATE papers and comprises 15% marks in the GATE question paper. At the same period, the rest of the syllabus varies according to the subject/paper.

GATE Syllabus 2021 was old revised because of the introduction of new eligibility criteria that allowed students in the 3rd year of graduation course to sit for GATE 2021.

GATE Syllabus 2022: Humanities & Social Sciences (XH)

GATE Humanities and Social Science (XH) is a new paper introduced in 2021. The paper consists of three segments General Aptitude (GA), Reasoning and Comprehension (B1), and Core Discipline, with a sectional weightage of 15 marks, 25 marks, and 60 marks.

The Core Discipline section in the GATE XH paper consists of six subjects- English, Economics, Philosophy, Linguistics, Psychology, and Sociology. Aspirants can pick any one of the subjects depending on the qualifying degree.

GATE Humanities & Social Sciences Syllabus 2022: Reasoning & Comprehensions Syllabus (XH-B1)

Reasoning & Comprehension (XH- B1) will examine the candidate’s ability and skills critical to research in the Humanities & Social Sciences. Questions from this section will not instantly test language competence in terms of vocabulary, grammar, etc. Instead, the focus is on analytical reasoning.
